Facts and Statistics in Child Protection Industry

Most Canadians believe that their government is using child removal authority to protect children and the tax dollars spent in "child protection" activities are helping families in need. This is what government would like people to believe. The inconvenient truth presented herein, supported by the facts and statistical data, tells a very different story from many families and children who had received services from the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD).

Child protection is a noble cause. As the commercialization of many "professional" services, the nature of child protection gradually changed. It is now an abnormal product of excessive government. Most state-sponsored "child protection" activities have betrayed the original intent of protecting families and children in need.

Under the pretext of "child protection", service providers of this industry have acquired tremendous statutory power and influences on government. They determine what and how much services recipients need, define the quality of service rendered, suppress complaints and dissatisfaction of their clients. Motivated by tax dollars, special interest groups aggressively target state-sponsored activities to market their services. They employ a very successful strategy of using massive public resources to oppress a very small percentage of the population, who typically are from the underprivileged social class and are unlikely to garner enough support to combat this oppression. Lack of accountability, undue public trust on government and apathy have further worsen the problem.

The following are some facts and statistical data of this industry:
